The Medical technology of REO
Components used in medical application must be safe and reliable, so each product is rigorously tested. REO also develops and manufactures test systems for railway traction and industrial applications. So safety and product testing to high standards are the norm for REO.
The standard IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 define the safety of electrical systems. To guarantee a safe power supply, experience and knowledge is necessary. To ensure standards are maintained, REO has its own testing facility at its manufacturing plant in Southern Germany.
REO also produces bespoke solutions integrating many of our core competencies. This allows customer-specific solutions such as special housing or mounting plates for example. Thanks to our international branches and certified service partners, our medical devices are widely available and we can be at your side – on site – for consultations, planning, and maintenance.

REOMED isolating transformers for medical technology – ed 3.2
REO AG has successfully completed certification for the new 3.2 edition of its REOMED isolating transformers. This certification will be mandatory from October 2024 and emphasises the quality and reliability of the REOMED series, which was specially developed for medical technology.

TRANSFORMER

The TÃœV-certified REOMED isolating transformers are proven and reliable equipment for use with all electrical systems in a medical environment. They reduce the leakage current and thus help to ensure the safety of patients.
REOMED isolating transformers are characterized by their very low magnetic stray-fields and reliability, whilst also providing high efficiency and easy connectivity.

ISOMONITOR | ISONET
The REOMED Isonet network isolator is used for the electrical isolation of devices in copper wire-bound Ethernet networks. The isolation protects devices and people from the effects of possible electrical voltage spikes on network power cables.
The ISOMONITOR monitors the dielectric resistances of both live contacts of the isolation transformer’s output socket against grounding potential and generates a warning signal in the event of a fault.

REO current transformers are particularly distinguished by their low space requirement, excellent linearity, fast response, and low iron and hysteresis losses. With the active current sensors based on the Hall effect, not only AC but also DC and pulsed currents can be mapped.

REO single-phase mains filters achieve the highest possible damping thanks to powerful chokes.
The single-phase mains filters are available as one-stage or two-stage filters and as a result enable compliance with the EMC guidelines in relation to the limit values for your application.

DC reactor and Mains chokes relieves the supply network by compensating the harmonics reactive power. REO dv/dt chokes and filters attenuate due to their structure the voltage rise to acceptable values.
